The local area around Loch Shuna & Argyll and Bute
This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a haven for wildlife of all kinds and the setting for Scotland’s first National Park, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, a real magnet for walkers and cyclists taking holidays in Argyllshire and Islands. A circular tour round Loch Awe provides an unforgettable day out - at its northern end are the romantic ruins of Kilchurn Castle, possibly the most photographed view in Scotland. In Argyllshire and Islands you’ll find Loch Fyne - source of the famous oysters and smoked fish. Visit the lovely Crarae Gardens or explore Scottish history at magnificent, turreted Inverrary Castle and the Auchindrain Township, where Highland life over past centuries is recreated. Tour the lovely, Gulf Stream warmed landscape of the Mull of Kintyre and don’t miss a trip to the picturesque harbour town of Oban, gateway to the Isles - Islay and Jura in particular are famous for their distinctive malt whiskies.

| "This was one of the best holidays we have ever had! The log cabin was so warm and cosy that although it has a wood burner you are not forced to use it for heat (even when it is -4 as it was when we were there in January 2010), although its lovely to sit by. The electricity being included made it good value for money as the log cabin was cosy and warm at all times. Very dog friendly as the owners also have dogs, and the log cabin is so well furnished that you can feel totally comfortable allowing the dogs to come and go, but the rugs and furniture are not at all tatty or "doggy" as some can be if they allow dogs. The sauna and hot tub operation were very simple." |
